Syrian army units reassemble south of Idlib city to confront thousands of terrorists came from Turkey

PROVINCES,(ST)-Syrian army units have reassembled themselves south of Idlib city and have foiled ISIS terrorists’ infiltration bid into military checkpoints east of Palmyra city amid continuity of military operations against terrorist organizations in Aleppo, Daraa, Quneitra and Homs, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The agency said today that army units reassembled themselves south of Idlib city to confront thousands of terrorists, who had come from Turkey.

It added that army units stopped the progress of terrorist organizations from the northeastern and southwestern edges of Idlib city  and they are engaged in a fierce fighting with terrorists to restore stability to the area.

A military source told SANA that army units carried out concentrated strikes against terrorists groupings that infiltrated into the national museum and into the surrounding of the industrial city at the eastern entry of Idlib city.

Hundreds of terrorists were killed in the strikes, the source confirmed.

Other strikes were carried out by army units against terrorist groupings in towns of al-Eweja, al-Manashir and al-Sh’qef and on the surrounding of Dweir al-Zeiton and Bashkwi in Aleppo countryside.

Infiltration bid into military checkpoints  

However, in the central region, army units in cooperation with the competent authorities foiled infiltration attempt by an armed terrorist group linked to the ISIS into military checkpoints in al-Sekhneh area, which lies east of Palmyra city.

Large numbers of ISIS terrorists were mowed down in the confrontations, SANA reporter said, adding that army units seized a quantity of weapons, munitions and bombs.

Further terrorists were eliminated and several vehicles belonging to them were destroyed as army units targeted terrorist hideouts in the eastern and northern countryside of Homs and in the northwestern countryside of Daraa as well as in the southeastern countryside of Quneitra.
