Syrian army strikes terrorist groupings in Idlib, retakes 10 hills north-west of Damascus

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has carried out successful operations against the Turkish Erdogan-backed terrorist organizations on the outskirts of Idlib city and has recaptured strategic hills and points in the western mountains of al-Zabadani in Damascus countryside , according to military sources.

A military source was quoted on the official news agency (SANA) as saying that scores of terrorists were killed and their weapons were destroyed in successful military operations carried out by army units on the outskirts of Idlib city.

The successful operations came a day after army units foiled terrorist organizations’ infiltration attempt into the city of Idlib where large numbers of terrorists, including ringleaders in the al-Nusra Front, were eliminated.

Thousands of terrorists reportedly flew from Turkey and attacked the city of Idlib.  

In the same province [Idlib], Syrian warplanes carried out concentrated strikes against terrorist organizations in Bakfalon, Filon and Martin areas and destroyed arms caches belonging to terrorists in Bennesh and T’om areas and on Ma’arret Mesrin-Serhjeh road.  

“Terrorists were inflicted big losses in the said areas,” a military source confirmed, indicating that army units are still pursuing terrorists east of Idlib city and killed large numbers of them there.

Last night, army units destroyed 4 armored cars, two weapons-laden vehicles and 30 vehicles equipped with machineguns belonging to terrorists in the industrial city, Ma’arret Mesrin, Selqin, Harnbosh and al-Desoqi areas in  Idlib.

Al-Nusra Front Emir killed

Scores of terrorists were killed and several others wounded in the said areas.

Terrorist organizations announced through social media that scores of their members, including al-Nusra Front Emir in Kafroma, his name Abdullah Shartah, died in the operations.

In the southern front, army units targeted al-Nusra Front sites in Mas’hara town, which is geographically  interlaced with towns in the northwestern countryside of Daraa, and destroyed a vehicle belonging to terrorists in an ambush on Tal al-Khaledeyh axis.

While in Damascus countryside, army units regained control of 10 strategic hills and points in the western mountains of al-Zabadani and killed a field Commander in al-Nusra Front, Abo Azzam al-Libi, in Jrod Flita area.  

The recaptured hills and points are- Qarqamaz, Ra’as al-Khash’a, Sheir al-Qerneh, Sheir al-Hewweh, Sho’ayb Alald, Beir Kaso, Qaser al-Namrod, Jabal al-Sheikh Mansour, Ra’a al-Qarn and Shaqef al-Ahmar.

The fresh achievement synchronized with striking terrorist organizations’ sites in the northern and western countryside of Aleppo and in the eastern and northern countryside of Homs.
