Modatex Fashion Fair Opened

DAMASCUS, (ST) – With the participation of dozens of companies specialized in textile industry, activities of the specialized exhibition of Textile Clothing and Leather “Moudateix” of 2015 fashion was opened yesterday at the “Dama Rose” in Damascus. The event was organized by the Syrian Exporters’ Federation (SEF) in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade, Federation of Chambers of Industry and Development and Promotion of Exports Association.

Head of the SFE Mohammed al -Sawah said in a press statement that the establishment of the exhibition specialized in Garment Industry in Damascus after four years because of the current crisis, “is an indication of the recovery of the Syrian economy.”

Mr. al -Sawah explained that the two-day exhibition, which aims to speed up local production wheel and return brilliance to Syrian industries as well as seeking to deliver a message confirming that “Syria produces its needs of export goods of high quality”.

“This exhibition will be a gateway to forthcoming local exhibitions with the support of the Federation of exporters, especially after setting up several exhibitions in some countries such as Iraq, Lebanon, the UAE, Sudan and others,” he clarified.

Secretary of the Syrian Exporters’ Federation, Mazen Hammour, said that some 90 companies, including 25 Leathers companies and 65 of clothing companies will take part in the exhibition.

The exhibition aims to “move the internal market” and to promote communication between producers and merchants to deliver the products to the citizens at competitive prices and to promote the status of national industries in the list of domestic consumption, Mr. Hammour added.

He pointed to the pursuit of the exhibition to enable all concerned parties of production and business of communication to see the new titles of industrial facilities after repositioning many industries due to the current circumstances and install the orders of merchants from various provinces for the current season and the next seasons through meetings with producers directly during the exhibition.

The head of the Exporters’ Federation, said earlier that the productive sectors in Syria began to recover and the doors are opened in front of the Syrian product in foreign markets, especially the textile and food industry met demand in the exhibitions that held recently by the SEF in Beirut, Dubai and Iraq.
