Strong relations linking Turkey with terrorist organizations

The strong relations linking the government of Recep Tayyeb Erdogan and the takfiri terrorist organizations operating in Syria have been crystal clear from the very beginning of the crisis in Syria. The ruling Justice and Development Party Government in Turkey has, for nearly four years, been supporting and funding various terrorist organizations in Syria and facilitating the flow of tens of thousands of terrorists into the Syrian and Iraqi territories. The Turkish cities and towns, particularly those near the borders, have turned into a safe place for multi-national terrorists coming to enter into Syria.

Turkey transgressed into the Syrian territory and relocated the tomb of Suleyman Shah from the northeastern Raqqa city where it exists in a suspicious act that reveals the Turkish government’s close connection with terrorist organizations operating in the area.

Turkey did carry out the move without Syria’s consent contrary to procedures usually followed according to the 1921 agreement signed between Turkey and the French occupation authorities back then.

The Turkish move is no less that an act of aggression against Syria. It is suspicious inasmuch as it unmasks the reality of the Turkish intentions and Turkey’s relationship with the terrorist organizations of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Turkey went far beyond providing all forms of support to its tools of the gangs of ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra and other al-Qaeda-linked terrorist organizations to carry out a blatant aggression on the Syrian territory.

The suspicion lies in the fact that this reputed tomb has been all along spared the acts of ISIS, which, on the other hand, has been destroying mosques, churches and tombs in various areas across Syria. This confirms the deep connection between the Turkish government and this terrorist organization.

The recent Turkish aggression against the Syrian land is a blatant display of belligerence.

The aggression is a blatant act that pulls the mask off the real face of the Turkish leadership which has been mounting one aggression after another against Syria. The close relation binding the Turkish regime and ISIS terror organization had emboldened the former to launch this blatant and unacceptable aggression.

The aggression reflects the Turkish anti-Syria policies, most notably the agreement between the US and Turkish governments whose aim is to prolong the Syrian crisis.

Various examples illustrate Turkey’s close collaboration with terror organizations, including ISIS. Reference should be made ISIS smoothly repatriating Turkish diplomats kidnapped when the terror group overtook Mosul, Iraq’s second largest city. How is it possible that Turkey can manage to get that number of terrorists and military vehicles inside Syria without cooperation with ISIS?

The Turkish transgression into Syrian territories is unjustifiable and the military interference by countries neighboring Syria makes the situation more complicated and only serves to destabilize security in the region.

The transgression in question involved the Turkish government entering Syrian territory and relocating the tomb of Suleyman Shah, the grandfather of the founder of the Ottoman sultanate, an act which involved venturing into an area where ISIS is active, leading to the conclusion that the Turkish government carried this out in coordination with the terrorist organization.

Employing terrorist organizations to carry out certain agendas creates a vicious circle that will only lead to spreading terrorism and destabilizing the region.

Another example of the close connection linking the terrorist organizations with Erdogan’s government is the confirmation by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu that terrorist Hayat Boumeddiene entered Turkey on Jan. 2 and crossed into Syria on Jan. 8. This constitutes a clear official confession that Turkey is still a main route for foreign terrorists to infiltrate into Syria and return to their countries in blatant violation of UNSC resolutions 2170 and 2178 on counterterrorism.

Boumeddiene is the wife of terrorist Amedi Coulibaly who was killed during the release of hostages he had been holding in a supermarket in Paris. She is wanted by the French authorities who described her as “armed and dangerous.”

The ease with which terrorists move through the Turkish territories reaffirms the involvement of the Turkish government with the armed terrorist groups and makes Turkey a direct partner in shedding the blood of innocents in Syria and all over the world.

The international community should take effective actions and put an end to the destructive Turkish policy which is directly responsible for the growth of takfiri terrorist activity in the region.

It should put into effect all mechanisms provided by the UNSC resolutions to stop supporting terrorism and deal with the phenomenon of foreign fighters.
