Syrian army conducts qualitative operations in southern front

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has repelled ISIS attack on an area south of Hassaka city and has intensified strikes against terrorist organizations in Daraa and Quneitra, the official news agency (SANA) reported Friday.

The agency clarified that terrorists affiliated to the ISIS [Its Arabic acronym is Daesh] tried to infiltrate from the western side into the eastern side of Bab al-Kher area south of Hassaka city, but an army unit foiled the infiltration bid and killed and injured many terrorists.

4 cars and weapons belonging to ISIS terrorists were destroyed during the confrontations in the same area.

Last month, army units regained control of the eastern edge of Bab al-Kher area plus several towns in the region after driving ISIS out of the areas. The ISIS terrorists fled to al-Shdadi city, which is the major stronghold for them in the southern countryside of Hassaka.

Dozens of ISIS terrorists were killed and several others were taken captive today by popular resistance and tribal people in Hasya’a area in the eastern countryside of Homs.

The northern countryside of Homs witnessed continuous military operations against al-Nusra Front terrorists and allied terrorist groups.

Other operations were carried out by army units in several areas outside Daraa, Quneitra, Idlib and Lattakia.

A military source declared that army units destroyed an arms cache plus several cars equipped with heavy machineguns belonging to terrorists in Jlin and Alma towns in Daraa countryside.

It added that army units mowed down many terrorists in Kafr Nasej, Tal Antar, al-Sheikh Meskin, Ibta’a, Athman, Tafas and Em al-Mayaden towns and Daraa al-Balad.

Israeli officer killed in Quneitra

More terrorists were eliminated in the towns of al-Hamedeyeh and al-Sweseh, which are main supply routes between terrorist organizations and the Israel, in Quneitra countryside.

An Israeli officer was killed when he was in a meeting with terrorist organizations’ leaders, including leaders of the so-called the ‘Free Army’ in Quneitra countryside, according to the Lebanese al-Akhbar newspaper.

Ambush

However, in Idlib countryside, army units killed an armed terrorist group’s members in an ambush in Wadi Ein Sheib area and pounded a terrorist hideout in Kafer Jales area amid continuity of operations against terrorist organizations in Ariha, Bennesh and Taftinaz areas.

Another terrorist hideout was obliterated in Mgher al-Mer area in Damascus countryside.

Arab mercenaries killed

In the northern countryside of Lattakia, army units destroyed several mortar-launchers and killed many terrorists, most of them were of Libyan, Jordanian, Palestinian and Egyptian nationals, in towns on Salma, Hzirin, nd Kafer dalbah.

Several weapons-laden cars plus cars equipped with heavy machineguns belonging to terrorists were destroyed in the said towns.

975 wanted persons surrender

On the other hand, SANA reported that 448 wanted persons from Aleppo and Damascus and its suburbs turned themselves in to the competent authorities for regularizing their situations.

Two days ago, 527 wanted persons from Damascus and its suburbs,  Aleppo and Idlib provinces turned themselves in the competent authorities.
