Syrian army retakes point outside Sweida, destroys tunnel in Der Ezzour

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has regained control of Rasm Marta’a al-Faras point in Sweida countryside and has destroyed a tunnel used by ISIS in Der Ezzour city, the official news agency (SANA) reported Tuesday.

The agency clarified that army units recaptured today morning the point, which lies in the northeastern countryside of Sweida, in the wake of eliminating many terrorists.

It quoted a military source as citing that army units are combing  the area after defusing dozens of explosive devices and mines planted by terrorists before killing them.

The source indicated that army units killed many terrorist in Tal Asfar area, about 45km north-east of Sweida.

Moreover,  army units destroyed a tunnel used by terrorists affiliated to the ISIS [Its Arabic acronym is Daesh] in al-Sena’a area in the eastern edge of Der Ezzour City.

The same province [Der Ezzour], witnessed a qualitative operation carried out by an army unit against the ISIS groupings in al-Sheikh Meskin quarter, which lies between al-Tahtoh quarter and the al-Matar al-Qadim [old airport] quarter.

The operation resulted in the death of many ISIS terrorists.

Over the past months, army units in cooperation with popular defense groups in the eastern region had made a progress in pursuing ISIS terrorists and recaptured al-Dghim farms, the agricultural researches center and large parts of al-Mre’eyeh area in Der Ezzour.

Continuous operations in central and southern fronts

In the central region, army units destroyed today a vehicle carrying terrorists in Em Sharshouh town and killed many terrorists in towns of al-Dwebeh, Em al-Rish, Rajm al-Qasr, Mas’ada, Talbiseh and surrounding od al-Rasrtan dam in Homs countryside.

Further terrorist were eliminated in the ongoing operations outside Daraa and Idlib.

A terrorist hideout plus 4 vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns were destroyed in Taftinaz area in Idlib countryside.
