DAMASCUS,(ST)_Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Muallem received the U.N.’s special envoy to Syria Staffan De Mistura on Saturday evening.
The talks between the two sides dealt with the plan of freezing fighting in Aleppo city and they agreed on sending a delegation from Damascus office to Aleppo on a fact-finding mission, according to the official news agency (SANA).
On February 11, de Mistura met President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus.
The Italian-Swedish diplomat was appointed as the special envoy to Syria in July 2014 by the U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
