Foreign Ministry: Syria Strongly Condemns American Conspiracy against Venezuela

DAMASCUS, (ST)-Syria has condemned the American Conspiracy against the Friendly Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, according to an official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.

In a statement to the state news agency (SANA) on Monday, the source said “Syria has followed up with great concern upon the American conspiracy being hatched against Venezuela as to undermine the political, economic and social achievements of the Venezuelan people and “within this framework Syria strongly condemns the coup attempt plotted by US agenda-linked parties as to target the life of President Nicolas Maduro.

The source added “the Syrian Arab Republic expresses its strong condemnation of the American conspiracy against the Bolivarian revolution and voices full solidarity and support for the people and leadership of Venezuela.”

According to the source, Syria which has strong and deep friendship relations with Venezuela reiterates its keenness to stand side by side with the Venezuelan people in defense of the legacy of Late President Hugo Chavez and which continues to be preserved under the leadership of President Maduro.

“Syria calls for putting an end to the American anti-Venezuela conspiracies which violate the international law and the UN Charter,” the source said.

A few days ago, the Venezuelan President announced that the Venezuelan authorities have foiled a US-backed coup attempt that aimed to destabilize Venezuela and undermine democracy in the country.
