Moallem, De Mistura Discussed New ideas on his plan to Freeze Fighting in Aleppo City

DAMASCUS, (ST) _ Deputy Premier and Foreign and expatriates minister Walid al-Moallem, received yesterday Staffan de Mistura, Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General to Syria and members of the accompanying delegation.

Discussions dealt with the new ideas put forward by de Mistura on his plan to freeze fighting in the city of Aleppo.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Faisal al-Miqdad, Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari, Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ahmed Arnous Advisor to the Minister as well as members of De Mistura accompanying delegation.

During his recent visit to Syria last November, De Mistura had discussed his initiative to freeze fighting in the city of Aleppo and its objectives.
