Terrorist organizations, real name of “moderate opposition”

It is very strange to consider the terrorists who are killing innocent people by shelling civilian areas by rocket missiles as moderate opposition. In fact, this name was created by the enemies of Syrian people as a pretext to continue supporting the armed terrorist groups, prolong the suffering of Syrian people and foil any serious effort that aims at finding a peaceful solution for the crisis in Syria.

The countries which still describe these terrorist groups as “moderate opposition”  should refrain from that and acknowledge the real name of those groups as “terrorist organizations”, including the so-called “Islam Army” which has been committing atrocious massacres against innocent people in various cities across the country.

A recent report by the UN Secretary General on the implementation of resolutions 2139, 2165 and 2191 in which the UN Chief referred to the agreement of the notorious Jabhat al-Nusra and the other terrorist groups of “Ahrar al-Sham” and “Islam Army” to form unified leadership council, operations room and Sharia court in al-Qalamoun area.

These terrorist groups should be included in the Security Council’s lists of terrorist organizations given their growing threat that has spread to the entire world.

The perpetrators of the terrorist acts in Syria and their regional and international backers should be brought to account, because of their heinous crimes and savage atrocities committed against Syrian people and their public and private properties.

The intense terrorist rocket attacks that targeted the city of Damascus last Thursday are a new episode in the criminal record of the terrorist groups operating in Syria and their Arab, regional and Western backers.

Many rocket and mortar shells fired by terrorist organizations poured down on targeting residential neighborhoods indiscriminately, leaving scores of casualties and destruction in private and public properties.

Firing of over 50 rocket shells and mortar rounds on neighborhoods in the capital that are home to houses, hospitals, schools and headquarters of embassies and international organizations is a heinous crime that should be denounced by the international community which are responsible for investigating into these crimes and putting their perpetrators to trial. Otherwise, the international community will lose its credibility. Condemning these terrorist acts and taking measures to hold to account the perpetrators and all the regional and international forces and countries standing behind them, particularly Saudi Arabia, Turkey, France and Qatar are urgent tasks before the UN if it wants to prove its credibility and impartial approach.

The so-called “Islam Army” terrorist group and its leader Zahran Alloush announced the rocket attacks, a threat of which was made clearly evident on social media websites several hours before the firing started. The attacks came as a response to the increasing pace of local reconciliations achieved in the country, the army-secured departure of thousands of civilians trapped in terrorists-controlled areas in Eastern Ghouta and Moscow consultative meeting.

It is clear that the armed terrorist groups and the states supporting them are trying to foil any attempt at reaching a peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria.

The success of such peaceful and political efforts threatens the plots of known regional and international forces which are being carried out on the ground by these Wahhabi-doctrinated terrorist groups.

There are countries inside and outside the region which are responsible for the continuation of terrorist attacks which Syrian cities have been subjected to for four years now. These countries include Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey and France, which have supplied the terrorists with material and logistic support as well as political and media cover to pass their sinister plans against Syria and its people.

The coward terrorist attacks will affect neither the resilience of the Syrian people nor their heroic defending of their independence, sovereignty, freedom and dignity. Adhering to these noble objectives and the national cohesion between Syrian people and their army have been the main factor behind the solid steadfastness of Syria in confrontation of the global conspiracy being launched by Zionism and its tools in the region.

Syrian people and army will continue to defend their homeland against terrorism regardless of the terrorist threats which are desperate attempts to hinder the victories achieved by the Syrian army against terrorist organizations.
