TEHRAN –Iranian President Hassan Rouhani reiterated Tehran’s strong opposition to the acquisition, proliferation and use of the nuclear weapons, stressing that Iran has never been after acquiring nuclear bombs.
Rouhani made the remarks, addressing a large gathering of people in the Central province of Isfahan on Wednesday.
Addressing the states accusing Iran of a military nuclear drive, the president said nuclear weapons cannot bring security to any country. “You yourselves have made atomic bombs and have supplied such bombs to a criminal like the occupier Zionist regime; but have you been able to create security for yourself and that regime with these bombs?”
“We don’t need atomic bomb,” he underlined.
Rouhani stressed that the united Iranian nation, enjoying talented youth, has managed to launch a new satellite into the orbit despite all pressures and sanctions and it honors its great scientists in various areas of hi-tech, including aerospace, nuclear, biotechnology and nanotechnology.
In relevant remarks in November, the Iranian president stressed that Iran was not only committed to all the international laws in improving its peaceful nuclear program,, but also determined to implement Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s fatwa against the production and use of the nuclear weapons.
ISIL serving as US proxy in Iraq, says Pourdastan
In another context,Iranian Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastanblasted the arrogant powers’ support for the terrorist groups in the region, and said the ISIL is fighting a US proxy war in Iraq.
Pourdastan made the remarks in a meeting with Pakistani military attaché in Iran General Reza Ali Khan in Tehran.
”Today we are facing a common enemy named the ISIL and Takfiri groups which are supported by the world arrogant powers. Today, the ISIL is serving as the US proxy in committing crimes in Iraq,” he said.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed regional and political issues, specially the ISIL and Takfiri groups.
They also underlined the two countries’ enthusiasm for exchanging military cadets and conducting joint wargames.
Reza Ali Khan, for his part, explained about the measures taken by Pakistan to fight terrorist groups, including the ISIL.
The US has secretly helped the ISIL terrorists in Iraq and in some cases its military aids have been revealed and recorded by international monitoring groups and bodies.
In the first revealed case, the US-led coalition dropped aids to the Takfiri militants in an area North of Baghdad.
Field sources in Iraq told al-Manar TV that the international coalition airplanes dropped aids to the terrorist militants in Balad, an area which lies in Salahuddin province North of Baghdad.
“The US and the so-called anti-ISIL coalition claim that they have launched a campaign against this terrorist and criminal group – while supplying them with weapons, food and medicine in Jalawla region (a town in Diyala Governorate, Iraq).
This explicitly displays the falsity of the coalition’s and the US’ claims,” Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Brigadier General Massoud Jazzayeri said.
