Zionist Entity Detains 350 Palestinians in January

The occupation army has detained 350 Palestinians from the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem over the course of January 2015, a Palestinian NGO said.

The West Bank city of Hebron saw the detention of 120 Palestinians last month, the largest number of detainees during January, the Palestinian Prisoners Society said in a statement, World Bulletin reported.

The Israeli army also arrested 60 Palestinians from East Jerusalem, 42 from Ramallah and al-Bireh, 38 from Jenin, 35 from Nablus, 19 from Qalqilya and 19 from Bethlehem, the NGO said.

Eight Palestinians from the Northern Province of Tulkarm were also held by the Israeli army, along with six from the province of Tubas, and three from Tulkarm.

Among the detainees were two girls in their 20s, bringing the number of Palestinian females in Israeli prisons to 24, it noted.

In December 2014, Israel detained 383 Palestinians, according to the NGO which advocates for Palestinians in Israeli custody.

Zionist entity to build 450 new West Bank settler homes

On the other hand, the Zionist entity published tenders to build 450 new settler homes in the occupied West Bank in a plan denounced by the Palestinians as a “war crime“.

Daniel Seidemann, head of the Terrestrial Jerusalem group which also monitors settlement, said the latest plans were the first of their kind to be announced in several months and unlikely to be the last before the election.

It’s the opening of the settlement floodgates,” he told AFP.

This could hardly be an accident,” he said. “It could not have taken place without Netanyahu’s knowledge and consent.”

Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) official Wassel Abu Yusef slammed the project.

What the Israelis announced is part of a wider war… against the Palestinian people,” Abu Yusef told AFP.

This is a war crime which should push the settlements issue to the International Criminal Court.”
