Syrian Arab army advances in al-Mre’eyeh town in Der Ezzour, recaptures several areas outside Damascus and Hassaka
PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has advanced in al-Mre’eyeh town in Der Ezzour and regained control over several towns in Hassaka countryside and over towns and hills in Zabadani area outside Damascus, the official news agency (SANA) reported Sunday.
The agency clarified that army units regained control over more parts in al-Mre’eyeh town in Der Ezzour few days after they recaptured the ‘reinforced area’ in the town, which lies 10 km east Der Ezzour city.
It quoted a military source as citing that the fresh gain came in the wake of striking ISIS sites in the town and killing dozens of terrorists.
“As many as 17 ISIS vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns were destroyed in the strikes that synchronized with foiling ISIS-linked terrorists’ attack on Jabal al-Therdeh and Hawejet Saker,” the source added.
It confirmed the death of large numbers of ISIS terrorists in the confrontations.
Lot of ISIS terrorist run away
At the same time, army units regained control over Rad Shaqra, Kheshfat, al-Msol and al-Dawodeyeh towns and Abo Sa’ed farm in the eastern countryside of Hassaka.
A lot of ISIS terrorists run away from the said towns after army units eliminated dozens of them, according to SANA reporter.
Last December, army units in cooperation with popular defense groups restored stability and peace to Abo Qsayeb and Tal Ghazal areas outside Qameshli.
In Damascus countryside, army units recaptured Dhahret al-Marjyat, Dhahret al-Wardeh and Ma’adar town north Kfir Yabous town in al-Zabadani area, about 11km far away from Lebanese border.
A military source said that many terrorists affiliated to the al-Nusra Front and the ‘Ahrar al-Sham’ organization were killed in the above mentioned areas.
On January 24, army units recaptured Kfir Yabous town and killed many terrorists, most of them linked to the al-Nusra Front.
In Idlib countryside, there were a series of qualitative operations against terrorist organizations.
The operations ended in killing and injuring many terrorists and destroying several cars belonging to them.
Further terrorists were reportedly killed in several areas outside Homs and Daraa.
