Syria Condemns Daesh Beheading of Two Japanese Hostages

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Syria has vehemently condemned Deash terrorist organization’s crime of beheading two Japanese citizens Kenji Goto and Haruna Yukawa, a source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said on Sunday.

In a statement to the state news agency (SANA), the source said the horrible crime reflects the danger of terrorism on the countries and peoples of the entire world. It affirmed the need to stop the support being provided by some countries and parties known of their keenness to arm, train and finance the terrorist groups.

The source added that Syria expresses sympathy with families of the two victims and all the Japanese people and stresses that war on terrorism necessitates sincere cooperation by all countries of the world with the efforts being exerted by Syria to eliminate terrorism based on implementing the Security Council resolution No. 2170, respecting the international legitimacy and countries sovereignty and the non interference in countries affairs.

Last night, Daesh or the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Levant (ISIL) released a video showing the beheading of the second Japanese hostage Kenji Goto a week after the extremist organization killed the other Japanese citizen Haruna Yukawa.
