Iran Slams Terrorist Attacks on Sinai as Direct Service to Zionist Entity

TEHRAN – Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces General Hassan Firouzabadi blasted the Thursday militant attacks on Sinai desert that killed tens of Egyptians, saying the perpetrators of the attacks are collaborating with Israel.

Those who attack the Egyptian people and army headquarters in Sinai desert and start fire and do massacre, whoever they are, knowingly or unknowingly, helping the Israeli occupiers,” Firouzabadi said.

“The Islamic forces are deployed in Sinai desert to prevent the Zionists’ aggression on Muslim territories, including the strategic Sinai peninsula, and attacking them is foolishness,” he added.

At least 27 people were killed, including civilians, and over 30 injured in a series of militant attacks in Egypt’s North Sinai province on Thursday night.

According to a health ministry official who spoke to state TV, several army and police positions were targeted in the province’s el-Arish capital.

The office of state newspaper al-Ahram was reportedly damaged in the assault. The province – which is located in Egypt’s remote desert region and borders the Gaza Strip, occupied lands and the Suez Canal – has been facing an insurgency which has claimed the lives of hundreds of security officers in the region.

On Friday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman MarziyehAfkham Strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in the Sinai.

Such terrorist acts are pursuant of the policy to get Muslim states busy with trivial issues to keep them far away from the Muslim world top priority issue of supporting the Palestinian nation and protecting the Holy Quds,” Afkham said.

She further underlined the need for the collective efforts of the regional countries to fight extremism and terrorism.

Zionist entityparalyzed by Resistance Forces, says Aboutorabi Fard

On the other hand, Vice-Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Hassan AboutorabiFard lauded the Lebanese Hezbollah group for taking the revenge of the recent Israeli air raid on the Golan Heights, and said resistance groups in the region have paralyzed the Zionist regime.

Muslim fighters have made the Zionist regime weak and incapable through the crushing response of the resistance forces,” AboutorabiFard said in the Northwestern province of East Azarbaijan on Saturday.

His remarks came after Hezbollah fired anti-tank missiles at an Israeli military convoy along the border on Wednesday, January 29, killing 15 soldiers. Israel responded by attacking a Lebanese army base, killing a UN observer force member.

The attack came ten days after an Israeli helicopter struck Quneitra in Syria’s Golan Heights, killing Iranian military advisor Brigadier General Mohammad Ali Allahdadi as well as the son of slain Hezbollah top commander ImadMughniyeh and 4 other Hezbollah members.

Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari underlined on Friday that the Wednesday Hezbollah attack on the Israeli army patrol on the borders between Northern Israel and South Lebanon was the minimum response to the regime’s recent air raid, and warned that from now on the Zionists shouldn’t feel safe in any part of the world.

Hezbollah’s response was the least response that was given to the Israelis and we hope that this response will be a lesson for them not to do such wrong deeds anymore,” Jafari told reporters in Tehran.

Stressing that the Islamic Republic and Hezbollah would give a single and united response to the Israeli regime, he said, “If Hezbollah cells decide to give a response to the Zionists’ recent move, they (the Israelis) should wait for more crushing and stronger responses not only alongside their borders but in every part of the world that an Israeli Zionist or their supporters are present.”
