Syrian Arab army discovers tunnels in Jobar quarter near Damascus, kills large numbers of terrorists in Der Ezzour and Daraa
PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has warded off ISIS attack on depots in Der Ezzour and has inflicted heavy losses upon terrorists holed up in a rocky area stretching from Daraa to Sweida, according to media sources.
The sources added that army units discovered a network of underground tunnels linking several buildings in Jobar quarter near Damascus and killed terrorists who were inside them.
In details, army units warded off ISIS attack on fuel depots in Ayyash town that lies 10km far away from Der Ezzour city and killed large numbers of terrorists, most of them non -Syrians.
Four vehicles belonging to the ISIS organization were destroyed by army units during the confrontations, a military source told the official news agency (SANA) reporter.
The source added that there was another terror attack this morning on TV and Radio station in Tal al-Jhef area in the western countryside of Der Ezzour, stressing that army units foiled the attack and killed dozens of ISIS terrorists affiliated to the ISIS [its Arabic acronym is Daesh].
More terrorists were eliminated as army units targeted hideouts of terrorist organizations in Jadal and al-Shomra areas in al-Lajat area in Daraa countryside.
Rocky area
Terrorists from al-Nusra Front-affiliated to brigades of ‘al-Emri’, al-Yarmounk army’ al-Mohajerin and al-Ansar spread in al-Lajat area, which is a rocky area stretching from Daraa province to Sweida province.
In Mzerib town near Jordanian border, today’s operations resulted in killing large numbers of terrorists and destroying several vehicles and weapons belonging to them, according to SANA.
The agency confirmed continuity of operations against terrorist organizations in several areas outside Homs and Idlib.
As for network of underground tunnels discovered in Jobar quarter near Damascus, a military source clarified that the length of the network is 200 meter and it is branched into several tunnels.
“At the end of one of the tunnels there was a small room used by terrorists as prison to keep abductees and to force them to carry out digging works. Besides, there was a headquarters for terrorist attacks in another tunnel,” the source said.
3000 gunmen pledge allegiance to al-Baghdadi
In another development, as many as 3000 gunmen in brigades and battalions affiliated to the ‘Free Army’ in the western edge of al-Qalamoun outside Damascus has pledged allegiance to the leader of the terror ISIS organization Abo Bakr al-Baghdadi, according to the Damascus-based al-Watan newspaper.
The paper indicated that Syrian warplanes struck last night sites of the ‘Islam army’ and other armed groups in Duma, Jobar, Zebdin and Erbin.
It quoted military experts as citing that what is going on in the al-Brij Front north-east Aleppo is but psychological war being waged by armed groups led the ‘al-Jabha al-Shameyeh’ and it aims to affect army morale.
