Policy On Supporting Terrorists In Region Must End, SaysVelayati

 

Tehran – Policy on supporting the terrorists in Muddle East region, which is pursued by some western and some regional countries must be ended, Leader’s Advisor in International Affairs Ali Akbar Velayati said on Saturday.

I am sorry for what happened in France in recent days and we condemn such terrorist acts,’ said Velayati who is also the head of the Strategic Research Center of the Expediency Council in a meeting with the visiting Cypriot foreign minister IoannisKasoulides.

 

He said that the Islamic Republic of Iran condemns killing of innocent people no matter where they get killed, either in Middle East and West Asia region, or in Africa and Europe, or anywhere else in the world.

The very essence of terrorism is condemned from the viewpoint of the Islamic Republic, and it is a pity that a number of innocent people have got killed by the terrorists in France,’ he added.

The two sides also surveyed bilateral ties and regional developments and evaluated their meeting as positive and constructive.

The Cypriot top diplomat said that Tehran-Nicosia viewpoints on Iraq, Palestine and Lebanon are pretty close to each other.

Velayati appreciated the foreign minster of Cyprus for its strong support for the people of Gaza during the various invasions of the racist Zionist regime.

Defense system to augment combat preparedness, says Jazayeri

On the other hand,  Deputy Chief of Staff of Armed Forces in charge of Basij and Defense Culture Brigadier-General MasoudJazayeri said on Saturday that Iran defense system will boost combat readiness.

Speaking about the achievements of Mohammad Rasoulallah (PBUH) wargames on land, sea and the air, he said the war-games examined practical steps to augment the combat readiness of the Iranian forces.

 

The Iranian army through increasing its capabilities is regarded as a powerful combat force to deal with the enemies’ conspiracies, he said.

Such series of war-games will increase the combat readiness of the Iranian forces and also help the country bolster its defense system, he said.

Iranian army and IRGC display a new defense system which won interests of many research centers, Jazayeri said.

The landmark Mohammad Rasoulallah (PBUH) war-games held between December 25-31 south of the country.
