DAMASCUS,(ST)_Syria has strongly condemned the terror attack on Charlie Hebdo magazine in Paris that left large number of victims, blaming the short-sighted European policies for such incident.
The condemnation came in a statement made today by a source at Foreign and Expatriates Ministry.
The source told the official news agency (SANA) that the terror act makes clear without doubt the dangers of the spread of the phenomenon of Takfiri terrorism, which poses threat to stability and security all over the world.
It underscored the need for serious policies that lead to unify efforts to defeat terrorism.
The source blamed the short-sighted European policies for such incidents and bloodshed in Syria, saying: ” The events and threats that have targeted more than one European city confirm the short-sightedness of European policies and their responsibility for these events and the blood that has flown in Syria.”
Counterterrorism
“Repeatedly, Syria has warned of the dangers of supporting terrorism, especially that hit Syria and the region, and cautioned that terrorism will fall back on its supporters,” the source added.
It concluded by saying: “Syria, which combats the Takfiri transnational terrorism and has offered sacrifices, renews its call for correcting the wrong policies and commitment to combatting all forms of terrorism in accordance with the international legitimacy as well as questioning terrorism supporters.”
Twelve people were killed in the attack on the French magazine Charlie Hebdo yesterday.
France is one of the western countries that support the so-called the “Syrian moderate opposition’, which is composed of terrorist organizations perpetrating daily brutal crimes against Syrian people.
