Awqaf Ministry : Targeting Imam Shrine Nawawi Attempt to destroy Syria History

 DAMASCUS,(ST)_ The Ministry of Awqaf  (Endowment)  condemned in the strongest terms the successive  

terrorist crimes against the Islamic and Christian holy places by the  armed  takfiri gangs , the

latest of which was the  bombing of Imam al-Nawawi  shrine in the city of Nawa in rural  Draa governorate.

“The evil  hand perpetrated these crimes is trying hard to destroy Syria civilization, history and

glories by targeting religious sanctities”, a statement by the ministry read yesterday, calling on  

Islamic world  scholars  to  “ defend our religion , civilization and the sanctity of our scholars.”

Earlier in the day,  terrorists of al-Nusra Front  exhumed the shrine of Imam Nawawi in Nawa

city, 45 KM to the west of Daraa city center and blew it  with up large quantities of explosives ,

resulted in  the destruction of large parts of it.
