Syrian Arab army makes progress in Daraa al-Mahatta, evacuates 150 persons from Zebdin town in eastern Ghouta of Damascus

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has advanced in Daraa al-Mahatta in the south of the country and killed many terrorists in the northeastern Idlib province and central Homs province, military sources said Friday.

The army’s advance manifested in recapturing several building on the outskirts of Bosra Square in Daraa al-Mahatta in southern Daraa province which witnessed fresh operations against terrorist organizations in Daraa al-Balad and Athman town.

The operations resulted in pounding a terrorist hideout on the outskirts of Athman town and destroying a mortar emplacement in refugees camp in Daraa al-Balad and killing many terrorists there.

Further terrorists were eliminated in al-Bardeh, al-Sheger, Qeston, Zaizon, Hloz, Mer’ayan, Talab, Tal Salmo, Bezze farm and Harsh Eshtabraq towns in Idlib countryside as well as in al-Wa’er quarter in Homs city and in al-Seltaneyeh, Rhom and Salam Gharbi towns in Homs countryside.

Syrian army, in addition, repelled terrorists’ infiltration bid into Maksar al-Hasan and Abo al-Alaya towns in the eastern countryside of Homs.

Much of Jobar quarter under army’s control

In Jobar quarter that lies just few kilometers north-east Damascus, there was heavy fighting between Syrian army and armed groups, according to the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel.

The MP Ammar al-Assad told al-Mayadeen channel that much of Jobar quarter is under Syrian army’s control, adding that a lot of gunmen have run away from Jobar quarter towards Duma.

Safe exit in accordance with reconciliation

In another development, Syrian army ensured safe exit to dozens of Families from Zebdin  town in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus in accordance with national reconciliation initiative made by Reconciliation Ministry, National Committee of Syrian Tribes and Civil Committee in Zebdin town, according to the official news agency (SANA).

As many as 150 persons , most of them women, children and elderly, were evacuated from the said town and they went to Jaramana city.

Two days ago, 346 wanted person from Damascus and its suburbs, Hama and Aleppo turned themselves in to the competent authorities for regularizing their situations.
