Issues on Political Solution to Syria Crisis Discussed by Bogdanov, Ambassador

MOSCOW, (ST) _ Special Representative of the Russian President for the Middle East and African countries, and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov yesterday discussed with Syria’s ambassador in Moscow Dr. Riad Haddad, issues pertinent to political solution to the crisis in Syria.

In a statement, later in the day, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that ” during the meeting issues relating to a political solution to the crisis in Syria were discussed, including the Russian proposal on organizing informal contacts between the Syrian government and opposition representatives in Moscow “.

 

In a recent interview with the Russian TASS agency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov confirmed that opportunities for the resumption of dialogue on Syria are improving.
