Patriarch Yazigi: Syrians will remain steadfast no matter how hard the winds blew

ALEPPO,(ST)_ Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All East John X Yazigi has underscored that Syrians will remain steadfast and triumph no matter how hard the winds blew.

The Patriarch’s remark  came during his meeting today with Aleppo Governor Mohammad Marwan Elabi and Secretary of the Baath Arab Socialist Party’s Aleppo branch Ahmad Saleh Ibrahim who offered congratulation on the occasion of Christmas.

Yazigi said: “My visit to Aleppo is a visit to Muslims and Christians and reflects our unity and our love for homeland.”

He indicated Aleppo people’s steadfastness and their high spirits in defending homeland, congratulating Syrian leadership, army and people on Christmas.

The Patriarch reiterated that Syria will overcome the crisis and will achieve victory.

The governor and the Secretary of the BASP’s Aleppo Branch stressed that the global war being waged by evil forces against Syria increased national unity among  people.

They added that victory will be achieved soon thanks to the Syrian army’s legendary steadfastness and sacrifices and the wise leadership of President Bashar al-Assad.

On his part, Aleppo Mufti Sheikh Mahmoud Akkam said that Christians in Syria are citizens and not nationals.
