PRAGUE- Political solution to the crisis in Syria is impossible without the Syrian leadership, the Czech Minister of Foreign Affairs Lubomir Zaoralek has reiterated, stressing the important role of the Syrian Arab Army in affecting the course of the ongoing events in Syria.
Zaoralek, who was speaking to a Czech website on Wednesday, said “past experiences of foreign military intervention, particularly in Iraq and Afghanistan don’t make anybody ready for intervention in Syria,” pointing out that he discussed this issue during his meeting with the US Deputy Secretary of State “Tom Marinofsky” who said he ruled out any involvement of US ground forces in Iraq and Syria.
The Czech minister criticized the US and Western plans to support the terrorists (moderate opposition), stressing that it is impossible to differentiate between what the west call “moderate opposition” and the extremist groups fighting in Syria.
He pointed out that the US-led coalition strikes against “Deash” terrorist organization “won’t solve the problem”.
Earlier this month, the Czech top diplomat affirmed the need not to rule out communication or cooperation with Syria and Iran regarding the fight against the terrorist organization ISIL.
