Russia Interested In Development Of Ties With Iran

 

Moscow– Deputy Speaker of Russia’s Federation Council ( Upper House) Elias Omakhanov said Monday that Russia is interested in development of ties and cooperation with Iran in all areas.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanaei.

The two sides exchanged views on parliamentary cooperation and ways to promote bilateral economic ties.

Sanaei, for his part, said Tehran is determined to further boost all-out relations with Moscow.

 

He underlined the need for removing the existing obstacles in the way of expansion of cooperation between the two nations.

Omakhanov also expressed his country’s readiness for development of ties and said that the Russian government and parliament are interested in expansion of relations with Iran.

He also said that the Russian Federation Council is interested in Iran’s membership at regional organizations.

The Russian MP further briefed the Iranian envoy on his recent visit to Syria and Lebanon.

The Russia Federation Council is the upper house of the country with 166 representatives from 83 republics and provinces, so that two persons appointed from each local parliament.

US not serious in anti-ISIS campaign, says Abdollahian

On the other hand in Moscow also,Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian said here Tuesday that United States is not serious in its anti ISIS campaign, while Iran and Russia are truly supporting Iraq and Syria in anti-terrorism campaign, Tehran and Moscow are seriously pursuing their strategic supportive policy of Syrian and Iraqi governments against the ISIS,” said Amir Abdollahian in a meeting with President Putin’s special envoy on Middle East affairs Michael Bogdanov.

He said that Iran’s four-article plan to resolve the crisis in Syria and Moscow’s ideas for solving that crisis democratically and through diplomatic channels have shared standpoints.

Hossein Amir Abdollahian arrived in Moscow on Monday evening for consultations on regional developments.

 

Iran not seeking to establish regional empire, saysLarijani

In another context  in Tehran,Majlis (Parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani said on Wednesday that Iran is not seeking to turn it into an empire in the region.

Speaking in a local gathering in Tehran, Larijani underscored that West has created Iran phobia aimed at frightening regional countries.

Creating division among the Middle East countries and Iran phobia are very vital issues in the region, he added.

Larijani underscored that Iran’s military might is based on deterrence, adding West is well aware that it can not deal with Iran through military options.

Iran has never intended to invade any country, he added.
