TEHRAN,(ST)_The tripartite meeting held on Tuesday between Syrian, Iranian and Iraqi Foreign Ministers dealt with the latest international and regional development and issues of common interest, according to media sources.
The sources said the Syrian FM Walid al-Moallem, his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Jawad Zarif and his Iraqi counterpart Ibrahim al-Ja’afari agreed to continue coordination and cooperation between the three states in the fight against terrorism.
The tripartite meeting was held on the sidelines of the two-day Conference on Combating Violence and Extremism which kicked off yesterday in Tehran.
IRNA quoted Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham as citing that Iran, Syria and Iraq are determined to find a solution to regional problems through dialogue.
The spokeswoman underscored that terrorism is a major threat to the entire region, adding that Iran plays a key role in solving this crisis.
“The trilateral meeting of foreign ministers of Iran, Iraq and Syria could clear the way for settling the crisis across the region,” she declared.
