TEHRAN – Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi said Washington has proved after yearlong nuclear talks with Tehran in the format of the Iran-Group 5+1 negotiations that all its words are completely untrustworthy.
“Today, after a year of nuclear negotiations, the Americans have grown unreliable and have disgraced the US national prestige,” Firouzabadi said on Friday.
He underlined Iran’s growing clout and power, and said the Iranian nation has proved that political issues like the nuclear negotiations leave no impact on their strong will to defend the Islamic Revolution and continued path of progress.
The top military official further blasted the latest remarks made by US Secretary of State John Kerry following the last round of Iran-G5+1 talks in Vienna about the vital importance of Israel for the United States, saying, “What the Americans say that they see themselves responsible for the security of the occupying, criminal and child-killing Zionist regime is a wrong strategy.”
Elsewhere, Firouzabadi addressed US President Barack Obama, and called on him to prefer his own country’s national interests to the Zionists and become a source of honor for the American blacks in the short period of time left from his term.
In relevant remarks late November, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari lashed out at the US for its cruelties against Iran, and said that Washington showed in the recent talks between Tehran and the world powers that its is not trustworthy.
“It became evident that the US is not trustworthy,” General Jafari said, addressing a huge gathering of Basiji (volunteer) forces in Kerman, Southern Iran.
“Today we can resolutely say that our people have found out that standing up and resistance against the enemies are the secret of our success …,” he added.
He reiterated that the Iranians should rely on their capabilities against the sanctions, and said, “Resistance was once just seen in Iran, but it has now spread to the Mediterranean coasts and close to the Zionists (Israel) … and they are afraid of this issue, but they cannot do anything.”
Iran in Full Control over Borders, says General Salami
On the other hand, Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Hossein Salami ensured the Iranian forces’ full and tight control over the bordering areas.
“Our country’s borders are experiencing their most secure conditions and thanks God, there is no insecurity at the borders,” Salami told FNA on Saturday.
“In terms of both security and intelligence, we have powerful control over the borders, and we don’t have any special concern,” he added.
After a series of terrorist operations at Iran’s border with Pakistan few months ago, the IRGC rushed to help the border guard troops of the Iranian Law Enforcement Police. There has been no unrest or cross-border attacks by the terrorists who have taken refuge on Pakistani territories ever since.
Big Powers Do Not Dare to Threaten Iran – Salami
Big powers do not dare to threaten Iran, Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Hossein Salami said.
Speaking at a local ceremony, he noted that Iran has learned how to resist world powers’ pressures and sanctions.
Iran has achieved major progress in both military and civilian fields including the civilian use of nuclear energy, Salami underlined.
He underscored that the power of resistance axis is increasing in every corner of the region including Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Iraq.
The US and Zionist regime’s power is in decline, the commander added.
Army Commander Stresses Iran’s Capability to Overhaul, Build Surface, Subsurface Vessels
In the same context, Army Commander Major General Ataollah Salehi praised the high capabilities of Iranian Navy forces and experts, underlining that the country can overhaul and build different types of surface and subsurface vessels.
“Our capabilities are growing each day and we have managed to promote and improve what we have, thanks to Iranian experts’ powerful hands,” Salehi said on the sidelines of a ceremony held in the Southern province of Bushehr on Saturday to display the Navy’s new achievements.
“In the very near future we will witness the building, renovation and innovation of surface and subsurface vessels by the Navy,” he added.
Meantime, Salehi emphasized that Iran’s knowledge and capabilities to build different military tools and equipment has no message to the other world nations, but peace and friendship.
