Syrian Arab army wards off ISIS attack on Der Ezzour airbase, kills many terrorists in Daraa and Aleppo
PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has pounded several terrorist hideouts on the outskirts of al-Sheikh Meskin town in Daraa countryside and has warded off ISIS attack on Der Ezzour airbase, media sources reported Thursday.
The official news agency (SANA) confirmed the continuity of concentrated operations against terrorist organizations holed up in al-Sheikh Meskin town, saying that the leader of the “Jedor Horan” brigade [his name Bara’a Ayed al-Za’al] plus the leader of the ‘al-Saberin’ brigade [his name Mohammad al-Saffori] were among the terrorists killed in the town.
It added that army units pounded terrorist hideouts in al-Thorayya area on the outskirts of al-Sheikh Meskin town and in Nawa, al-Hrak, Mzerib, al-Qfe’a, surrounding of al-Ghezlan farm and in the western quarter of Athman town.
The above mentioned areas are located in the northeastern and western edges of al-Sheikh Meskin town and they are supply routes across Jordan border and the Israeli-occupied lands.
Arms cache destroyed
In another development, Syrian army destroyed an arms cache belonging to terrorists in Bosra al-Sham in the same province [Daraa] and eliminated many terrorists affiliated to the ‘Shohada’a Badr’ brigade in Bani Zied quarter in Aleppo city.
More terrorists were killed when Syrian army struck their groupings on the outskirts of Nubul and al-Zahra towns, about 20km north-west Aleppo city, and in Byanon and al-Tamora town in the northwestern countryside of Aleppo.
In addition, Syrian army warded off terrorists’ infiltration bid into Kafr Deba town, which lies south Ariha city in Jabal al-Arba’een outside Idlib, and struck terrorist groupings in al-Waer, Em Sehrij and Der Foul areas in central Homs province.
While in Der Ezzour province, Syrian army warded off fierce attack by the ISIS terrorists on Der Ezzour airbase and killed and injured dozens of them, according to the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel.
The clashes between Syrian army and the ISIS terrorists took place in Hwejet al-Mre’eyeh town, which lies near the walls of Der Ezzour airbase.
Al-Mayadeen TV channel added that 8 gunmen killed when Syrian army shelled their groupings in Jrod al-Jarajir in al-Qalamonun area outside Damascus.
Saudi ISIS Emir killed
On the other hand, there were clashes between the ‘Islam army’ and the ISIS in Be’ar al-Qasab in the southwestern countryside of Damascus amid reports of the death of one of the Saudi ISIS Emirs, dubbed Abo Isam al-Qorashi, in the ongoing clashes in Ayn al-Arab city north-east Aleppo.
