Al-Halaqi meets Parliament’s complaints committee

DAMASCUS,(ST)_Prime Minister has reiterated importance of cooperation and coordination between legislative and executive authorities to draw up legislations meeting public interest.

Dr. Wael al-Halaqi, who was speaking in a meeting with members of the Committee of Complaints and Petitions at the People’s Assembly [Parliament], underscored the government’s keenness on enhancing communication with different segments of society to mitigate effects of unjust economic sanctions that target Syrian people and to deal with daily livelihood issues.

He indicated positive outcomes of field visits being made by ministers to provinces.

Al-Halaqi, in addition, briefed the committee on efforts being exerted by the government to improve services and development sectors and ensure citizens’ basic needs in the light of the shortage of resources and intensification of economic sanctions.

The official news agency (SANA) reported that the talks during today’s meeting also dealt with detainees and abductees file, mechanism of controlling the prices in local markets and establishment of industrial city and free zone in coastal region.
