Putin reiterates Russia’s support for Palestinian statehood

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM,(ST)_Russia’s President has reiterated that his country supports the establishment on an independent Palestinian state as soon as possible, according to the Palestinian News agency ‘Wafa’.

The agency quoted Vladimir Putin as saying: “Russia intends to go ahead with offering every possible support to the Palestinian authority in the future to enhance the state institutes and to solve the social and economic causes .”

The Russian President’s remark came in a letter he sent to the Palestinian President Mahmod Abbas on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Putin affirmed Moscow’s readiness to continue supporting resumption of Palestinian-Israel negotiations.

He underscored the importance of boosting the Russian-Palestinian ties for the interests of the two countries’ peoples.
