Fierce fighting continues in Ayn al-Arab city

ALEPPO,(ST)_Intense fighting has continued in Ayn al-Arab city[known as Kobani in Kurdish] northeast Syria, according to local sources.

The sources said today that clashes between the people of Ayn al-Arab city and the ISIS-linked terrorists escalated over the past hours on the southern and southeastern axes of the city.

“The clashes coincided with shelling, carried out by the Kurdish people’s protection units, on the ISIS sites,” the sources added. 

They confirmed that the Ayn al-Arab city’s defenders advanced 200meter on the east and southern axes and have carried out storming operations in an attempt to recapture areas from the ISIS [known as Daesh in Arabic].

Ayn al-Arab city has witnessed fierce fighting since September 16.

On the other hand , it was reported that the US-led coalition carried out 7 airstrikes against the ISIS sites inside the city of Ayn al-Arab and its surrounding.
