Gold Ounce Sales Increase, 700 Craftsmen Return to Work

DAMASCUS, (ST) – The Syrian gold ounce meets circulation as the number of ounces sold amounted to 350 ounces so far, pointing out that about 700 craftsmen returned to work, according to statistics by the Association, chairman of the Association of Goldsmiths in Damascus, Ghassan Jazmati, said.

 

About the participation in gold and jewelry exhibitions in Dubai or Beirut, Mr. Jazmati said that the participation will be in accordance with the easier procedures.

For his part, Head of the Economic Group for Promotion of International Investment, Dr. Nabil Marzouk confirmed that everything differed according to the rules issued by the Syrian government to keep up with international standards and facilities provided excess in some existing facilities internationally in terms of export and import.

“Exhibitions are considered one of the most important manifestations of economic events in the world of jewelry, which have an international footprint and the association is working to organize an exhibition in Dubai early next month and full suite of Syrian jewelry will be booked.” Dr. Marzouk said.
