PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has regained control of al-Shaer gas field and surrounding hills in Homs countryside and has killed a ‘dangerous terrorist ringleader’ in Daraa province, military sources declared Thursday.
A military source said that army units in cooperation with popular defense groups imposed control over al-Shaer gas field and surrounding hills in eastern countryside of Homs.
It confirmed the death of large numbers of terrorists belonging to the ISIS [its Arabic acronym is Daesh] there, adding that remaining terrorists in the area are being persuaded.
Earlier, the official news agency (SANA) quoted a military source as saying that army units killed many terrorists, including a dangerous terrorist ringleader- his name Khaled al-Sebeh- in an area located between al-Nada and al-Smaqeyat towns in Daraa countryside.
Al-Sebeh was leading the biggest terrorist group in the southern area.
In the same province [Daraa], Syrian army pounded several hideout of terrorist ringleaders in al-Sheikh Meskin and eliminated many terrorists in Dael town.
More terrorists were mowed down when army units warded off infiltration attempt into Athman town in Daraa countryside.
15 terrorists killed
While in northwestern province of Idlib, Syrian army destroyed several hideouts and arms caches belonging to al-Nusra Front in Wadi Sakhrin and Jabal al-Zaweyeh where at least 15 terrorists died and dozens wounded.
Some of the wounded terrorists are of Arab nationalities, a military source said, adding that 7 Pick -up cars equipped with heavy machineguns plus a car loaded with ammunition boxes were wiped out in the said area.
In another development, Syrian army destroyed many cars belonging to terrorists in the western farms of al-Hseneyeh outside Quneitra and obliterated terrorist hideouts in several areas outside Damascus, Aleppo and Homs.
Two terrorists blew themselves up in al-Foroqlos town outside Homs, media sources said, noting that no one was hurt .
On the other hand, competent authorities regularized situations of 154 gunmen and wanted persons from Hama and Damascus countryside after they turned themselves in to the authorities under national reconciliation process.
Basma Qaddour
