CAIRO,(ST)_Egyptian air forces have launched fresh airstrikes against terrorists’ hideouts in al-Arish, al-Sheikh Zuwaid in Sinai, killing over 15 terrorists, according to a security source.
The source was quoted on the Egyptian the ‘al-Watan’ newspaper as citing that dozens of terrorists were also wounded in the airstrikes that continued throughout the past hours.
“Last night, Apache aircrafts conducted airstrikes against terrorists’ hideouts north Sinai where 17 gunmen were eliminated and several arms caches plus vehicles for them were destroyed,” the source said.
Identities of Friday’s terrorist blast’s perpetrates identified
On the other hand, Egyptian local media outlets quoted security sources as confirming that identities of 8 persons that perpetrated the terrorist attacks north Sinai last Friday were identified. “The 8 persons are not among the wanted persons in the list of security bodies,”
Last Friday, terrorist blasts killed at least 34 Egyptian soldiers and wounded 50 others north Sinai.
In Faiyum city, an explosive device detonated today behind the headquarters of Civil Protection Administration causing the collapse of the wall without casualties.
Terrorist plot against school students
In another development, the Egyptian Education Minister Dr. Mahmod Abo al-Nasser declared today that security bodies in cooperation with Defense Ministry foiled terrorist plots against school students in several provinces in Egypt.
“As many as 45 explosive devices targeting students in schools were defused by competent authorities,” the minister added.
Moreover, a security source told the Middle East News Agency that a sound bomb detonated inside one of the Medicine Faculty’s auditoriums in al-Azhar University in Nasr city. “No one was hurt.”
“Security forces are combing the surrounding of the al-Azhar university and other universities for bombs,” the source added.
