ALEPPO,(ST)_People of Ayn al-Arab city have engaged in intense fighting with the terror organization Daesh [IS or ISIS] on several fronts, media locals said Wednesday.
The sources indicated that over 18 terrorists affiliated to the Daesh organization [known as IS or ISIS or ISIL in foreign media reports] were killed in the fighting.
Three more terrorists were killed in airstrikes carried out by the US-led coalition on the outskirts of Ayn al-Arab city [known as Kobani in Kurdish] north-east Syria.
A local source declared that the Daesh organization [IS] exploded dozens of car bombs and explosive belts during its aggression on the city in an attempt to capture it.
On September 16, the terror organization Daesh launched an aggression on Ayn al-Arab. As many as 100.000 people fled the city.
The Syria-Turkey border city of Ayn al-Arab and surrounding towns were reportedly home to about 400.000 people, most of them Kurds.
