De Mistura: Syrian People alone Decide the Future of their Country

TEHRAN, (ST) _ UN special envoy to Syria, Staffan de Mistura, stressed that the Syrian people are the only side to decide the future of their country, stressing that the solution to the crisis in Syria is political.

 De Mistura told the Iranian IRNA news agency yesterday that he discussed with Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Mohammad Fateh Ali current developments in Syria and Lebanon and reiterated that the solution to the crisis in Syria is political.

He added that talks dealt with due visit to Iran, the second station of his tour after Beirut during which he will discuss with the Iranian officials possible political solutions to the crisis in Syria.

Earlier on Thursday, De Mistura, held a series of meetings and talks in Beirut with several Lebanese officials on the current developments on the regional arena and the crisis in Syria.
