PM asserts government’s desire to ink free trade deals with friendly countries

DAMASCUS,(ST)_Prime Minister has said the Syrian government is keen to open up new horizons in industrial, trade and economic relations with friendly countries and to sign free trade deals with them.  

Dr. Wael al-Halqi’s remark was made during a meeting on Thursday with the ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Damascus Alexander Ponomarev.

He underscored the need for boosting trade and development relations between Syria and Belarus to match the political and historic relations, calling on the Belarusian businessmen and companies to set up development projects and to take part in reconstruction process in Syria.

Ponomarev asserted his country’s determination to develop economic and trade relations with Syria and to increase the volume of trade with it.

The two sides debated how to reactivate joint deals, exchanging experiences, offering humanitarian aid to Syrian people and reactivating the Syrian-Belarussian Businessmen council.
