Syrian Arab army foils terrorists’ infiltration bid via tunnels into south-west Jobar quarter near Damascus
PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has reportedly foiled terrorists’ infiltration bid into strategic area in Jobar quarter near Damascus and has struck terrorist organization’s sites in several areas outside Homs, Quneitra and Daraa.
Alikhbaria Syria TV channel reporter said that army units ambushed last night terrorists that tried to infiltrate into several buildings –via tunnels-south-west Jobar quarter.
The infiltration attempt aimed at opening a route towards Damascus and breaking the siege imposed on terrorists in Jobar quarter and in the Eastern Ghouta, according to media sources.
Large numbers of terrorists were killed while the remaining terrorists fled to Ein Tarma, a field commander declared, adding that army units are defusing the explosive devices planted inside the three tunnels through which terrorists tried to infiltrate into the quarter.
Other explosive devices -planted by terrorists- in northern edge of Jobar quarter are being defused by army units after they recaptured several building on Taibeh axes.

Media sources confirmed that Syria army is advancing into Jobar quarter from three axis- Souq la-Hal, Souther Highway, and al-Abbaseyeh square- in order to cordon off the quarter and to isolate it from the surrounding areas.
Terrorists belonging to al-Nusra Front, the ‘Islam Army’, the ‘Ajnad al-Sham’ and the ‘al-Habib al-Mustafa’ brigades are still inside the heart of Jobar quarter.
Terrorists defenses collapse
In another development, Syrian army in cooperation with national defense forces recaptured Kafernajd town in northwestern province of Idlib after the gunmen defenses collapse in the town, according to the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel.
The TV channel added that many terrorists were killed as Syrian army targeted their vehicles in al-Kastillo north-west Aleppo.
Syrian army, according to the official news agency (SANA), also targeted terrorist groups in al-Kerk al-Sharqi, Tlol Khalaf, Em al-Mayadeen and al-Bajabjeh quarter in southern Daraa province and on the outskirts of al-Hamedeyeh, Mashara, Em Batneh, al-Ajraf and al-Doha towns outside Quneitra as well as in al-Rastan, al-Seltaneyeh, Em al-Rish and Em Sehrij outside Homs.

At the same time, it was reported that the Kurdish people’s protection units regained control of 5 quarters in Ayn al-Arab city [known as Kobani in Kurdish] north Syria after fierce fighting with the ‘State of Iraq and the Levant’ [terror organization known as Daesh in Arabic and as IS or ISIL or ISIS in foreign media reports].
