Jaafari: Terrorist Organizations Worked to Eliminate Syrian women Presence as humans, using shameful Fatwa
NEWYORK,(ST)_ Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari stressed that the terrorist organizations in Syria sought at the full support of terrorism-sponsoring governments the presence of Syrian woman as a human, based on unethical and shameful fatwas that claimed lives of hundreds of girls amid suspicious international silence.
In a speech yesterday at the UNGA session dedicated for Advancement of Women, Jaafari said that for three years, Syria has been suffering from terrorism and sabotage, noting the case of the Syrian 16-year old teenager from Raqqa who was slaughtered by the Takfirists because she has an account on Facebook and another one who committed suicide for refusing to marry a jihadist terrorist of a Tunisian nationality.
During the past three years, Jaafari indicated, terrorist organizations slaughtered Syrian women and forcibly got them married on the borders of neighboring countries, in Turkey and Jordan, where they suffer worst forms of sexual violence, psychological oppression and human trafficking.
He continued that during the said three years, the so-called international community and some senior UN officials known for their frequent statements in support of women’s rights, while Western and Arab media were all preoccupied with pressuring and fabricating charges against the Syrian government, noting that the Syrian government and unlike the Saudi regime, for example, has enabled Syrian women and ensured their rights on equal footing with men in all walks of political, economic, cultural life and social development, while their counterparts in Saudi Arabia are not permitted do not drive a car or even a bicycle, compared with the Syrian woman who runs the position of vice president.
al-Jaafari indicated Syria repeated calls to divert the UN attention to the offensive fatwas against Arabs and Islam including the so-called ‘ Jihad marriage ‘ by submitting data and messages to the UN SCGA and warning against the extension of the phenomenon, noting that the deplorable and suspicious international silence over the suffering of the Syrian and Iraqi women allowed these shameful fatwas victimizing hundreds of girls from Tunisia, Morocco, France, Britain, Austria, Germany and the United States of America and Australia.
He indicated a report by the British “Guardian” newspaper based on the testimony of the interior ministers of some European countries to that France is the largest exporting source of these girls and that number of girl soldiers from Britain is 50, 60 from Germany, 14 from Austria, and 20 from Sweden In addition to an unknown number of girls from the US and that one of the girls is the French 13-year old teenager Noura.
Jaafari renewed Syria’s call for every sincere and true international effort to put an end to these ignorant and morally deviant fatwas and to find a mechanism to hold countries which have a legal mandate on them to be held accountable.
