Revitalization of Business with Russia Discussed

MOSCOW, (ST)-  Syrian businessmen who participated in the International Exhibition for Food Industries, which was held recently in Moscow discussed means of activating the work of trade between Syria and Russia, and ways to overcome the difficulties that hinder the aspirations of both sides.

During the meeting, which came at the initiative of Syria’s ambassador to Russia, Dr. Riad Haddad at the embassy in Moscow, both sides discussed ways to overcome the difficulties to develop trade with Russia and stressed that cooperation between the Syrian exporters and the Syrian importers in Russia will remove many of the obstacles and pave the way for increasing the volume of trade exchange and to raise the quality of the Syrian goods to the specifications of the Russian market.

The conferees agreed to form a coordination committee between the two sides composed of local members and expatriates that ensure communication between the Syrian exporters and the Russian consumer to overcome the difficulties of routine and bureaucracy.

Participants also discussed in the meeting issues of shipping, transport of food products and financial payments and agreed to discuss this matter with the authorities in the two countries.
The Syrian businessmen who participated in the exhibition underlined that their goal is to open a Syrian window on the Russian market and identify the Russian needs.

“The participation of the Syrian producers in the exhibition led to arrange a series of meetings to open up new horizons in trade relations with Russia,” Dr. Haddad said.

The Moscow International Exhibition for Food Industries recently concluded its activities.
