Syria participates in 17th Asian Games

DAMASCUS,(ST)-The South Korean city of Incheon is due to witness the starting of the 17th Asian Games tomorrow.

All 45 NOCs of the Olympic Council of Asia, including Syria, will participate in the 16-day event, playing for 439 gold medals in 36 sports.

The 17th Asian Games, officially known as the XVII Asiad, is the largest sporting event in Asia.

Syria will compete in the said event in the following ten sports: weightlifting, karate, track and field events, cycling, boxing, wrestling, judo, shooting, triathlon and swimming.
