DAMASCUS, (ST)_Supported by the Syrian government, UNRWA distributed on Friday 295 food parcels in the besieged Palestinian refugee camp of Yarmouk in Damascus, according to the official news agency (SANA).
The General Authority for Palestine Arab Refugees supervised the process of distribution in the camp.
The agency quoted Director of the General Authority for Palestine Arab Refugees Ali Mustafa as saying that 295 food parcels distributed in ‘Rama’ Street in Yarmouk Camp and the “Nour” Association for Relief, Development and Progressive Youth provided vaccines to children.
Since last January, some 48.590 food parcels plus 6949 medical kits were distributed to Palestinian and Syrian persons living in the camp.
Several armed organizations have imposed blockade on the Yarmouk camp and hinder implementation of all initiatives and deals that aim at ending the crisis in the camp and entering humanitarian aid to it.
