“Fly Syria” Company to be Established

DAMASCUS, (ST) – The Director of the Syrian Company for Tourism, Dr. Nasser Qedban said that the Council of the Company agreed to establish a commercial tourist airline company “Fly Syria” in order to run regular flights on all the points that have an economic feasibility.

“The capital of the company amounts to about three million dollars, including the expenses of establishing and running within a plan of ten years, that begins deployment of two aircrafts for passenger and to hire a cargo plane with the intention to have a fleet of 40 aircrafts,” Mr. Qedban stated.

In case of the presence of a stumble in the issue of rental, we will resort to the Russian Federation for the purchase of the aircraft, adding that this step comes in the context of providing the best service for the Syrian citizen and ensure the needs of the market of international transport in Syria, in addition to the lucrative economic feasibility that can be achieved by the enterprise and the willingness of the private sector to contribute to funding and to achieve a true partnership, Mr. Qedban explained.  

With the aim of establishing a bloc to gain access to stronger competition and higher profits and lower costs, the offer was displayed on the Syrian Arab Airlines company as a first step to participate in the company by a certain percentage and currently, according to Qedban equipment in terms of the administration offices and cadres of work. The main partner, he added, is General Establishment of Social Insurance, two partners from the private sector in addition to the possible existence of an Iraqi and Lebanese partner, one of them will be chosen upon the one’s promotional ability of the company.

On the other hand, Mr. Qedban underlined, within the company’s business plan to invest about 105 buses parked, that 14 buses have been invested as a first step by the private sector for an investment value paid to the company each year estimated at 30.5 million Syrian pounds and the 91

With regard to the rest of the buses amounted to 91, Mr. Qedban explained that the decision was made to invest viewing and the company received many offers either by the Cabinet, or directly to the company.
