FM statement: Syria expressed satisfaction with the release of Algerian diplomats kidnapped by terrorists in Mali

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said that the Syrian Ministry expresses its satisfaction with the release of the Algerian diplomats whowere kidnapped by an armed terrorist organizations in the Republic of Mali.

“Syria conveyed warm condolences to the Algerian government and the families of the Algerian victims who sacrificed their lives while held in Mali,” the source said yesterday.

“Syria commemorates the position of the Algerian government in rejecting the blackmailing practiced by terrorist groups in Mali, on the ground of the principle to fight against terrorism,” the statement read, voicing solidarity with the brotherly Algerian people and government in the face of extremism and terrorism that threatens Algeria security and stability, the same way it threatens the security and stability of Syria and countries of the region and the world “.

Worthy mentioning that several Algerian diplomats were kidnapped by armed takfiri terrorist organizations northern Mali in April 2012, three of them were released in July, 2013 and two on August 30, 2014, while one kidnapped diplomat was killed at the hands of the terrorist organizations.
