More 320 gunmen from Rural Damascus Turned themselves in to Competent authorities

DAMASCUS,(ST)_Some 320 militants from Bassima town in rural Damascus who were involved in current events turned themselves yesterday to the competent authorities to regularize their status.

According to a source at the police command, status of some 320 gunmen from Bassima was regularized, endeavored by the efforts of the f national reconciliation committees m after they pledged not to undertake any action that would prejudice the safety and security of the homeland.

On August 254 militants from Madaya town turned themselves in to the competent authorities, and then number of redeemed gunmen reached 801 during the month of August from the towns of Madaya and Zabadani and Bassima and Kanaker and Beit Sahm.

In June, other 99 gunmen from the regions of el-Kesweh and Babila surrendered themselves in and their weapons to the competent authorities, while the about 84 gunmen from al-Tell, Maloula,Jbaadin and Zakia, al-Teibeh, Almqilbah and Ain Beida.

 Last April,the number of insurgents reached 310, with many of them escaped compulsory military service, but the figure exceeded 500 during March, in a continuously repeated process in the towns and villages of rural Damascus.
