Credit Line with Russia to be Established

DAMASCUS, (ST) – During a meeting held recently at the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade, means of supporting the development of exports were discussed.

“Styria’s participation in international exhibitions is an important issue that confirms the presence of Syria in any country of the world where the exhibitions are held despite all the sanctions and all the challenges, saying: Syria will be present at any place and any time,” the former Minister of Economy said.

“Economic sanctions have been imposed on us, either from Western or Arab countries, and who gave us help and support are Russia and Iran so it had to be oriented towards the east and there are a lot of steps that have been applied, pointing out to the establishment of a new line of credit with Russia along the lines of credit line with Iran,” he clarified.

For his part, the Director of the Development and Promotion of Exports Agency Ihab Ismander said that many studies have been completed to support the technical and qualitative side of export work and the most important one is the implementation of the of the exhibitions’ plans noting to the importance of «Syria MOTEX» organized by the Agency in Beirut.

He called Federations of Chambers of Industry and Commerce of the commitment of the memorandum of understanding signed between the Agency and these Chambers about the participation in the international exhibitions.
