Syrian Clans’ Initiative to Solve Crisis in Syria

HASSAKA, (ST)-Syrian Clans delegation, which visited Russia a few days ago, held a press conference on Tuesday in the city of Qameshli, northeast Syria, to explain its initiative to solve the crisis in Syria.

Faisal Aladul Rahman, a delegation member, said “the initiative consists of three agreed upon principles; preserving the Syrian Arab Army and its weapon, Keeping the unity of the Syrian land and letting the Syrian people choose the president of the republic.”

“The initiative was welcomed by the Russian officials who have supported a solution that stops the bloodbath in Syria and brings opposition parties together to sit to a negotiation table with the government to settle the crisis,” Alabdul Rahman clarified.

He added “the initiative rejects foreign intervention in Syria’s internal affairs and calls for solving the crisis through diplomatic channels.”

The delegation also pointed out that its members will visit some “opposition” bodies outside Syria to propose the initiative after it has enjoyed the support of many Arab clans.
