Syrian Arab army strikes ISIL positions in Der Ezzour, moves in on Zebdin town in eastern Ghouta of Damascus

PROVINCES,(ST)_Army units have pounded several hideouts for ISIL–linked terrorists in Der Ezzour province and have made a fresh gain in the Eastern Ghouta battle, according to military sources.

One of the sources was quoted on the official news agency (SANA) as saying that the army units targeted several hideouts and arms depots for terrorists affiliated to the so-called the ‘Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant’ (former name of the IS) north of Der Ezzout city.

“The hideouts and depots were completely destroyed,” the source confirmed, adding that the army units eliminated large numbers of ISIL-linked terrorists in Ma’adan and several areas east of Der Ezzour city.

Meantime, the army units moved forwards towards Zebdin town and imposed control over the road leading to Der al-Asafir  town- located south of Zebdin town- in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus where many terrorists were killed and injured.

There were also a series of concentrated operations against terrorist groups in Zamalka, Erbin, eastern mountains of Zabadani and Qalamon in Damascus countryside, according to a military source.

Many terrorists were killed and injured in the operations.

Last night, at least 7 terrorists were killed and 18 others wounded in a concentrated operation near Shohada’a square in Duma city in Damascus countryside.

Two weapons-laden trucks destroyed

In addition, the army units destroyed two weapons-laden trucks in Ein Hsin in Homs countryside and struck terrorist groupings in many areas in the same province and outside Daraa, Aleppo and Quneitra.

The strikes coincided with foiling terrorists’ infiltration bid into Raqqet Farweh in Daraa countryside and defusing about 20 explosive devices, weighed 50kg/each, planted by terrorists on Hamedeyeh-Em Jrin road in Idlib countryside.

Two days ago, the army units mowed down large numbers of terrorists in an ambush on Harra-Zemrin road in Daraa countryside.
