Iran Seeking Removal of All Sanctions, Says Afkham

Irans nuclear negotiating team seeks lifting of all sanctions against the country during its talks to reach a comprehensive agreement with the Group 5+1, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman MarziyehAfkham said on Wednesday, according to IRNA.

Speaking at her weekly press briefing, she said the next round of talks between Iran and the six world powers (US, Britain, France, Russia and China plus Germany) will be held in New York, early September on the sidelines of the 69th Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA).

Contacts are being made to set the time and venue of the talks.

Noting that Foreign Minister Mohammad JavadZarif and the European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton are also to meet in early September, Afkham said time or venue of the meeting have not been determined yet.

Afkham added that negotiations with other members of the G5+1 are underway through their embassies in Tehran to hold bilateral meetings after finalizing preliminary discussions.

If necessary, expert groups will hold talks before the General Assembly, the spokeswoman added.
