Syria participate in Youth Olympic Games

Nanjing,China-(ST)-The Syrian athletes are currently taking part in the 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games which was opened in east China’s Nanjing on Saturday.

Approximately 3,700 athletes from around the world taking part in.

The Syrian athletes will compete in the following sports: fencing, basketball(3×3),swimming, weightlifting, track and field events.

Flags representing 203 National Olympic Committees paraded during the opening ceremony.

Outstanding athlete Fatima Raya hoisted the Syrian flag in the opening ceremony.

During the 13-day-competition sports gala, the young athletes aged between 15-18 will compete in 28 sports in arenas and stadia in Nanjing.
