Britain’s policy towards Syria has been stupid, and it should apologize for supporting the terrorists who are fighting the Syrians, Dr. Faisal Mekdad, the deputy Minister of Expatriates and Foreign Affairs told the British Guardian last month, July, 2014.
It was up to David Cameron to stop Britons coming to fight in Syria – an increasing preoccupation for UK authorities in recent months. “We regret that British people are coming here to be killed and to kill Syrians. But we believe it is the responsibility of the British government to stop such an onslaught.” Outlined Dr. Mekdad.
“The British government is extremist in its views on Syria and they are still thinking and dreaming that their agents, the Muslim Brotherhood and the other takfiris (violent jihadis) can make the change they want. Why should I be diplomatic if Hague and Cameron are not dealing with us diplomatically? We don’t have to be. And developments have proven that we are correct and they are stupid. They have to admit that they have failed.” Added the deputy minister.
“These are the great achievements of the British governments, of invading Iraq, of invading Libya, of planning to invade Syria. And these are the results of the so-called Arab spring that was supported by the west, (allowing) the Muslim Brotherhood to control the entire region.
In August, 2014, David Cameron, the UK Premier, writing in The Sunday Telegraph, warns of terrorist caliphate on the shores of the Mediterranean if Islamic State succeeds
The West is embroiled in a generational struggle against a poisonous brand of Islamic extremism that will bring terror to the streets of Britain unless urgent action is taken to defeat it, Cameron said, asserting that the world cannot turn a blind eye to the creation of an extremist caliphate in the heart of Iraq.
Warning that Islamic State fighters already control thousands of square miles of territory, Mr Cameron says that if these “warped and barbaric” extremists are not dealt with now, they will create a “terrorist state” on the shores of the Mediterranean.
He warns that Britain will have to use its “military prowess” to help defeat “this exceptionally dangerous” movement, or else terrorists with “murderous intent” will target people in Britain.
Premire Cameron says Britain and the West need a firm security response to the crisis in Iraq and that fighters from Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) cannot simply be removed by air strikes alone, calling for a military action to go after the terrorists themselves, but also stresses that the Government must take uncompromising action against extremists in Britain trying to recruit fighters for jihad abroad.
In his article, the Prime Minister lays bare his alarm at how the crisis in Iraq threatens European security, Mr Cameron says the first Isil-inspired terrorist acts on the continent of Europe have already taken place.
“We are in the middle of a generational struggle against a poisonous and extremist ideology which I believe we will be fighting for the rest of my political lifetime,” he says. Thus, Mr. Cameron, hopefully not too late, has finally realized what Syria has been asserting that the scorpion of terrorism is to sting all with no distinction, and particularly those who support it and groom it up inside their own pockets!
